The heart-warming video was taken on Saturday at Kang Kang and his owner's home in the city of Shenzhen in the southern province of Guangdong.
The 13-second clip begins by showing Kang Kang sitting in front of around 20 stuffed toys which were attached to a bar.
The owner can be heard telling the dog to 'come in' in Mandarin, but he appeared reluctant to follow her order.
Kang Kang then walked up to some of the toys to sniff them. He seemed to take a particular interest in a large-size toy dog that looked like him.
His owner told him: 'They are not dry yet.'

Apparently, these are not all of the playthings Kang Kang has.
His owner, Ai Li, said she had washed just half of the pet's toys that day.
'He saw me wash them, and decided to sit there to watch them until they were dry,' she told MailOnline.
'I think he was trying to tell me that even though he couldn't play with them, he wanted to look after them.'
On the night, Ai Li woke up at around 1am and couldn't find Kang Kang. She checked around the flat and eventually found him sitting on the balcony.

The footage was uploaded by Ai Li onto Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, and users were amused by Kang Kang's love for his toys.
One of them wrote: 'This dog is so cute and even knows how to protect his dolls. He is afraid that you would give them to other dogs.'
Another one joked: 'This golden retriever knows these are his personal assets and cannot be taken by others.'
A third one suspected: 'He is afraid that they would get stolen.'
